Queery!!

Well I was going to post a piccy of my dangly snowmen but Blogger tells me I have run out of piccy space and must upgrade.........
have any of you had this happen at all?

In fact are any of you paying monthly for your blog to continue with piccies as well as text?

Maybe Ive been naive but I hadn't known that I would have to pay -although I guess it does seem fair that I pay for my little wave band in the cybery levels!

And $2.39 a month doesnt exactly break the bank does it......so why am I untrusting of giving Google my credit  card details????
Advice please folks!!

  1. I pay for my photo blog as I would have run out of space eons ago - it is $26 US a year, and they then give you heaps. I also paid an upgrade for Paddy's Daughter as I wanted to be able to embed videos...It is quite safe to give your details, or organise an account with Paypal which is even more safe. Cheers, Sue

  2. someone else brought this up a while ago...can't remember who it was but if i remember correctly, if you post pictures below a certain size, it will not be counted toward your allowable space. i've had my blogger blog since 2009 and have not run out of pic space but my pics are always jpgs and usually below 800 pixels. google the problem and you'll probably find loads of info.

  3. That made me think ! I have at least ten different companies that hold my credit card details and those are just the ones I can remember, no problems up to now but it's just asking for trouble. Never heard of paying for for Blogger, must read the terms and conditions when I can find them.

  4. Yep, I'm paying now....but it was a once-a-year deal. At least I'm only charged once a year. I tried deleting a whole bunch of the oldest posts off my blog to open up space but it didn't work. Finally bit the bullet and decided to cough up the money.

  5. I have never been asked to pay and some of my posts are quite photo heavy. I wouldn't trust this request either.

  7. I'm not sure about Blogger but my DH and I both have a Picasa Account and pay a nominal annual amount for 20Gb of storage. It's only about £5 for a year so very reasonable. I think I pay it via Paypal so there's no need to give Picasa/Google to have my card details.

  8. Lyn, this just happened to me. Although I have no objection to paying $2+ per month for use, the problem is, if you don't pay it in perpetuity, literally the very day you stop paying, you lose all of the photos you've uploaded since you started paying. (This happened to me on my old blog.) I stopped paying because I stopped using that blog - and byebye photos.

    Something to think about!

  9. I've just run out myself - I have no objection to paying, but the problem is, that as soon as you *stop* paying, you lose all the photos you've uploaded since you started paying. I lost space on my old blog, and started paying - but when I decided to blog under my new name, I stopped paying on the old one - and *poof* all the photos I uploaded were gone.

    Something to think about!

  10. I pay $5 or $6 per year and have for about two years -- pretty sure I'm locked in at that price. Fingers crossed. I didn't have a choice because I post a lot of photos plus somehow picasa grabbed all the photos on my hard drive so that used up a lot of memory very quickly. They weren't just my photos, a ton were from when some of my kids still lived at home -- it's an old computer! I don't worry about them having my credit card info., it's been okay. Let us know what you end up doing. xo
