Better pics of trees and july hexi BOM

They all look the same size don't they but they are large, medium and smaller from the top! But hung as intended on a wall, they do look a bit more interesting lol

And having realised its Julys end - I had a mad dash yesterday making up the July hexi block of the month, an ice cream cornet and I had to include the Cadbury's chocolate flake,
which makes it what we call a '99 cornet'   : )

Commision trees completed ~ I think

Hand made wet felt, recycled lampshades, recycled fabrics, beads and broken jewellery

spot the owl below ..

turquoise beady bit hiding below ~

Spot the glittery butterfly and hedgehog below ~

The owl picky is being professionally stretched and framed up,
with non reflective glass, in that tea tray for hanging on the wall.
I wouldn't have done it justice, so best to pass it someone
who knows what they are doing !

Oh and get the hat lol Holly Hobbit lives again!

Moths begatting in my garden!

What an amazing sight to see first thing in the morning in the garden!
Poplar Hawk Moths begatting away and golly, they were still at it at 5.30 that night - bet her legs were tired by then!

Wonder if you can guess what I'm making at work? though I need to do some further paint effects and re-assembling.

One of the guys at work came to borrow a needle and thread for the anniversary card he was making for his wife. It was their second anniversary, so a 'cotton' symbolism - a thoughtful and clever idea this I thought,
all be it a bit sad he cut up his Hard Rock Café t-shirt!!

Advice please?

Okay now I could do with some feedback please ~

This owl was stitched by a lady and her daughter wanted it framed.
Now it's for her that I am making 3 of my recycled  'dream trees' and they will hang with this owl, in her new garden chalet.
I had found this old tray at a car boot and straight away thought it would be a lovely frame - for something lol  -
so am considering using it for this?

Now I reckon owl could work in this tray frame, but should I shabby chic the woodwork or have a narrow mount between the natural wood of the tray and the stitching?
What do you think?
I can't get hold of the lass who gave me the commission, think she may well be on holiday....so have no input from her as yet.

There's been some headway on the trees too ~

Oh and ....

After a recent visit to Waitrose and my shock discovery that they sell SO many gins I had never heard of, or tasted - imagine my surprise to find that Tesco also had 2 more makes I'd never heard of before too!
I can recommend the Blackwoods now : )

I couldn't leave this old pressed glass vase at the car boot this morning,
it was only 50p - 50p!!
Mind you it may not stay as a caddy next to the sink .....

I've been making tactile coastal erosion boards at work for a child to use in September. He has some sight so I've used 48 point font for him to read the words more clearly.
These and several other tactile explanatory graphics will go into a Coastal Erosion Topic Box.
All good fun ~

Love these heels, dislike this chair, I have a commission! and a hexifying website : )

Saw these in a charity shop yesterday - LOVE the stained wooden heels!

Not my size but then I don't go anywhere to wear anything this tasty!

I saw this flashy/kitschy/ crappy lol  seat trio at the car boot this morning - please don't tell me you like it!!
If you enlarge the picture, you'll get the full 'Dynasty' effect lol

I'm thrilled at the moment, since I've been approached by someone who bought a piece of my work 2/3 years ago off a stall I had at a Christmas event.
She's asked me to make her three of my circular 'trees' so I've gone through the panic stage - will they be good enough, can I create something for someone specifically, to order, when normally I just make things for me, that I quite like lol
Although they are to go on the wall in her garden log cabin come summer house so I have some organic leeway here!
Then I went through a house search for suitable fabrics, the heat gun, hoops  - all were in hiding of course, since before the move here.
Then I had a think about what I planned to do, what shape trees and what colours, that kind of thing.
I knew I'd want to use some hand made felt for the 'ground' so hauled out the embellisher - but couldn't find its lead and plug - godamit!
So out came the wet felting gear instead lol

..... so long since I've wet felted now my arms ache!!

Anyway I've begun the middle sized tree, still needs a lot doing to it mind you ..

A pal and I went for lunch in Cottingham, cant recall the name of the little tea room now sorry, but I thought the presentation was delightful!
Such a cute tea cosy!

My son finally fitted the white painted mdf over where the sliding door metalwork is, so now I have somewhere to hang my stitchy bird banner-y thing, when I get round to making it!
Though I stand more chance of having a Christmas themed something hung there before I get the birdy one completed lol

Then I saw this link on a blog I follow which I thought was kind of useful, now for the life of me I can't recall whose blog
I found the link on! I'm a dummy!
So if it was your blog, please forgive me and remind me so I can credit you correctly as having inspired me!
 : )

It allows you to hexify a picture! for free!
Foe example I took this picky

and heixfied it to this

okay not exactly mind blowing patterning but even so,
I love the colours lol

and this pic

becomes this!

Well you can see how much fun you can have with this lol
especially if your easily pleased like me !
You can have squares, when you click on 'apply the mosaic',
you can select hexi, square or 3 different triangles,
 rhombus and cubes !
Great fun lol see what I mean?

this is almost as absorbing and 'time wasting' as Pinterest!!

matching bags, almost

I have made myself a sort of matching hold all/ shoulder bag, using that lovely old vintage Sanderson fabric that I lined my old string bag with.
It's reversible although I'm unlikely to use it with Sanderson on the outside, simply because it is original vintage fabric, all be it brand new and never used for anything. The stripe is heavier duty anyway so a better bet for the outside.
I've been busy stitching white on white patterned hexis for a pathway on my batik hexi cover. No pictures since white on white, just looks white lol hey ho!
